Finn Class News – December 2021

With this update we bring you the latest news on Finn class events and the plans for the years ahead.

In addition the December 2021 issue of FINNFARE has been published and will shortly be in the mail. It contains an extensive round up of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics along with reports from the Masters events and all the latest news. Online links are below.

There has been a lot of discussion within the IFA Executive and between the IFA and many of the member nations on the future of the Finn and this will continue into next year. We will issue a questionnaire in the new year to gather opinion of many areas of the class operation and our events

In the latest issue of FINNFARE, IFA President Balazs Hajdu covers these discussions in depth in an extended President’s Letter and lays out a rough strategy for the class in the coming years. Plans are evolving and developing, though of course the bigger question is about when the world reopens from the pandemic and we can push ahead with many of the initiatives being discussed. I encourage you to read the letter and provide feedback.

The key immediate concerns of the Executive have been to organise next year’s major championships and the 2022 season, and these are now largely fixed. There are more details below, but keep an eye on for updates. We will send another update in the New Year when more is in place.
