Dear Finn Fanatics,

Less than a week and we are sailing on the Dutch waves of the IJsselmeer, in Medemblik

Forecasts are looking very good and the weather is supposed to warm up in the days of sailing. 

We have more than 70 boats on the starting line (and we know there are notorious Dutch sailors who always register late). But, more impressive: 21 sailors from outside the Netherlands are joining! A warm welcome for all of our neighbors, next door or further away, who come all the way to the Lowlands to check out the Medemblik waters for next year’s World Masters!

A few points to share with you:

Friday morning

Please do not forget to present yourself prior to the races. We have a few tokens to share with you for Saturday’s participation in the sponsored event and for Sunday’s after-race skippers meal (courtesy of Finn Club Holland).

I’ll make sure you know where to sign in / find me.

Friday evening: Drinks and Buffet Dinner at Brakeboer

From 5pm on the Finn sailors are very welcome to join us at Cafe Brakeboer, in “downtown” Medemblik, for drinks and snacks. Courtesy of Finn Club Holland (with a max…….;o) 

From 6.30pm onwards, there will be an Indonesian buffet dinner arranged. But; this requires a registration, incl. a 25 Euro payment. If not done yet, please register for the dinner at: https://www.finn-sailing.nl/onk-2024-buffet-registration/, as soon as you can. On Wednesday I need to let Jack know how many people will join for food. No registration simply means no participation in the dinner. With 70 Finns participating, the dinner-participants-number ought to be pumped up as well. You really do not want to miss this!

Saturday late afternoon: Sponsor Event

After the Saturday races there will be a happening at the Regatta Center, with music, drinks and food. Courtesy of the sponsors of the event. Think about a starting time, 45-60 min after the boats returned to the base. Details will follow but please collect your token for it on Friday morning. Not everything will be for free (alcoholic drinks might have a price) but let’s join the sailors from the other classes and the organizing committee & sponsors to find out. 

Sunday, after the Races

Skippers meals will be arranged for all participants on Sunday, served from the Regatta-building. You will receive a token for that as well on Friday. No personal cost involved for you as a sailor (Finn Club Holland will $-participate in this Hollandia initiative).
